About GATE
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) tests understanding of engineering and science subjects. The score is used for M.Tech/PhD admission with scholarships and for recruitment by many public sector companies.
Conducted by: IISc and IITs on a rotating basis (organising institute changes each year)

GATE Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree holders and students in the 3rd or higher year of a bachelor's programme in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce or arts.
- There is no age limit and no limit on attempts.
GATE Exam Pattern

How to apply for GATE
- Register on the GATE online application portal.
- Choose the paper and exam cities.
- Upload photo, signature and category documents.
- Pay the fee and download the admit card.
GATE Preparation Tips
- Start with the syllabus and weightage of your paper and plan chapter by chapter.
- Solve previous years' papers – topic repetition is common.
- Practise NAT questions; there is no option to eliminate.
