Education loan – frequently asked questions

Do I need collateral for an education loan?

Many banks offer collateral-free loans up to a limit, and above that property or other security may be needed. The limit varies by lender and scheme, so we check the latest rules for you.

Who can be a co-applicant?

Usually a parent or guardian. Some lenders also accept a spouse or sibling with stable income.

How much loan can I get?

It depends on the course, institution, country, your co-applicant's income and the lender's policy. Our loan expert can give you a realistic range.

Can I get a loan for study abroad?

Yes. Many lenders finance study abroad. We help you prepare the admission-letter based file and understand forex and visa timelines.

What is a moratorium period?

It is the study period plus a few months after the course when you may not need to pay full EMIs. Interest may still build up, so we explain it clearly.

How long does the loan take?

It depends on how complete your documents are and on the lender. A complete file usually moves faster, and we follow up for you.

Do you charge for loan guidance?

Please confirm your own fee policy here before publishing. (Edit this answer in Education Loan → Page texts.)

Is there any tax benefit on the interest?

Tax rules for education loan interest can change and depend on your tax regime. Please check with your tax adviser.

Ready to fund your education?
